Hello everyone! March is here, and Spring is not quite in the air... but, the hope of Spring is definitely in the air! Come to think of it, this may be the first year that we hunt for Easter eggs in two feet of snow! This month is especially exciting for Richard and I. Ten years ago on March 7, we were married in the Idaho Falls Temple. I have included a special 10 year anniversary page that has pictures of then and now, and our engagement story. I am somewhat surprised at how NOT long ago it seems, yet how much has changed since then. (Including our appearance.) I guess that is a sign that we really are aging, but we try not to think about that part.
This is our family on the day of the Rexburg Temple dedication (February 10). We would like to thank Richard's brother, Scott, (who lives just up the street from the temple) for coming out in his PJ's to take this picture. :)

Congratulations on your 10th anniversary! How could you two have five children and still look like a bride and groom? We are so proud of you and your family. The picture in front of the temple is very special. Thanks for being such a wonderful part of our family. Granddad & Grandma Burt.

I had a couple really close "guy friends" in high school that must have kept me from noticing how impressive Richard was. I must say Kim, you were quite perceptive. I hardly knew Richard at all in high school, but I do remember laughing at all his jokes, and I enjoyed listening to him show off on his violin. I think the Lord may have had a hand in keeping us apart until after his mission. If we would have had the opportunity to get to know each other back then, I think for sure we would have hit it off! (That is, if he could have got over what a nerd I was.)

KaraLyn - I loved reading how you and Richard met, all I knew was that you were stand partners. However, I do remember how funny you thought he was back then and I knew you had a "crush" on him, even though you wouldn't admit it in the good old days of high school orchestra - You have a beautiful family and know what is important. Congratulations, Richard and KaraLyn! We hope you have a great anniversary. You'd better be going somewhere "kidless" for a while. ;) You guys are great examples to us. We love you. - Rob and Alison

"I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. . . . Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God (3 Jn 4:3,11).

In 10 years you have successfully achieved the monumental task of being the typical Mormon family! 5 kids!!! Congratulations! You're right, we do learn so much from our children. Thank you KaraLyn for your amazing trust in me as your mother. However, I still say that YOU raised me. What a blessing it is to me to have such a beautiful, talented loving daughter, and I mean beautiful on the inside as well. Both you and Richard bless our lives each day. You are the example of goodly parents! Thank you for your goodness. mom
